Self-Improvement
Instead of having New Year resolutions I have written goals,
A listing of twenty attainable things I want to achieve,
Sort of like a contract with myself, each with a specific date,
Because objectives on paper are presents I’ll come to receive.
It’s a blueprint, a map so I won’t get caught in the ticking trap,
As they say time is the most valuable asset I don’t get back,
It’s the chart to the near future and all of the possibilities,
Shaping a path, going forward so I won’t have any setbacks.
But it’s in within this plan that it is also important to note,
Being of service to others is also good for the soul,
So that maybe kindness and good deeds will influence others,
And something positive will come out out of each scripted goal.
It may be heuristic but I’m trying to be more optimistic,
Positivity is vital in the spirit of self-improvement,
It should go viral so it can maybe spread all around the globe,
And the voice of the people will influence world governments.
