Hurricane Maria
Alas I felt a ray of sun kissing my skin beneath the storm.
I prayed and prayed lord let it end
This monster that keeps me out of bed
Would it take the roof from over my head
Would it drag the very foundation that kept me sted
Woe raging winds or horror
Woe rain that floods the core
Treacherous surges, bodies washed ashore
The aftermath devastating
Mental damage galore
the homeless, the hungry
My God the babies,
No more, no more!
I prayed and prayed lord let it end
This monster that keeps me out of bed
Would it take the roof from over my head
Would it drag the very foundation that kept me sted
Woe raging winds or horror
Woe rain that floods the core
Treacherous surges, bodies washed ashore
The aftermath devastating
Mental damage galore
the homeless, the hungry
My God the babies,
No more, no more!
