Desires True Name
You are the most consuming unfulfilled longing of my life.
If desire has form and shape, breath and life, it is bound in you.
You, to me, are desires true name.
You are the impossible, yet the thought of you never fails me.
If I stood in the midst of desolation,
Surrounded by insurmountable walls I could never scale
And all the powers that assail man's soul
Came upon me at once
Still,
Still, I would breath your name and hope.
Is that not life?
One moment of now, and endless memories?
And you,
You were that moment that I hoped for
And this hope has never failed me,
The ever present now.
For I know the sun also rises
And hope is born anew,
And the fierceness of it is as the raging sea
Cast upon the rock of shore;
Though it take an eternity to break it down and gather you to me.
The howling wind for fury and the scorching sun forbear,
And though days and the elements conspire,
Eternity declines
For destiny the day transcends.
You are human, frail and beset, as so much the more am I.
Why did I not damn the fates and touch the human clay,
And feel the quiver of your life yielding 'neath impassioned longings way?
Hell is no more than n'er to have heard that first catch of your breath,
That sweet draught which bespoke a, Yes!
Like waking dream electric in it's vision.
And still,
So you are,
Carried here within...
If desire has form and shape, breath and life, it is bound in you.
