Raising Mother

My mother's head has cracked today.
I found her wandering about.
I raised her from a child I did,
and this is how we go out.

What's it like to feel something?
It's something I can't do.
I can't afford to let it slip,
and let the waves come through,
for if I do I'll surely drown,
and get lost just like you.
