Hope, a beautiful creature
Loved and relied upon
Long lived the great Phoenix
and brutally, violently died
perfect death of a martyr
I wait for the hatchling
among the mass
of your ashes,
while love eternal
lights your fire
and lifts
you again

Really nicely written. Life as cyclical is the only bigger picture that makes sense to life experienced as linear.
