Home is Where my Body Sleeps
remembering you felt like a dream
the way you held me beneath the pale moonlight
how it beamed on your winter blues
it was enchanting
home was how you looked at me
through windows and pictures and writing
i never thought you’d close me away
with heavy curtains
burn every polaroid
and tear journal entries
I’m slaughtered inside
four walls that we shared
home was my refuge
when you lived there
bricks keep it in
let my heart hide
ring my doorbell
nothing’s inside
i am rotting away with the wood of your love
i am tortured by your aftertaste
on a beaten couch I will stay
as my blood and guts seep
into the fabric of tragedy
home is where my body sleeps
the way you held me beneath the pale moonlight
how it beamed on your winter blues
it was enchanting
home was how you looked at me
through windows and pictures and writing
i never thought you’d close me away
with heavy curtains
burn every polaroid
and tear journal entries
I’m slaughtered inside
four walls that we shared
home was my refuge
when you lived there
bricks keep it in
let my heart hide
ring my doorbell
nothing’s inside
i am rotting away with the wood of your love
i am tortured by your aftertaste
on a beaten couch I will stay
as my blood and guts seep
into the fabric of tragedy
home is where my body sleeps
