a new
life
falling
i am rain
all my life
i’ve been the rain
falling falling
for the arms of the sky
abhor my strain
and here the belly of the earth
cannot abide my inertia
longing longing
a safe place for to die
to grief and pain
how i have longed its birth to see
where pregnant sunshine light restrains
tongueing longing
longing tongueing
if music by some mirth retains
fervent flute lullabies for me
for future gains
a hunger for the sky
longing longing
to lend me wings again to fly
for here the belly of the earth
abhors my strain
and the arms of the sky
calling calling
i’ve been the rain
all my life
rain am i
falling
life
anew
