The Friendship Train (or Until Next Year)
Pushing up my glasses,
Riding the train to the State Fair of Texas!
Us three best friends,
Friends until time ends.
At the state fair,
Late at night, wind through our hair,
Fingers looped through each backpack loop,
In our little, glowing, group.
Glowing with fun and laughter,
With friendship and wonder,
Full of cotton candy and root beer,
Knowing the end of the night is near.
We've walked and talked,
At crystals and jewelry we've gawked,
On this friendship train of pure joy,
I wish every day, and every night could be like this, oh boy!
Not wanting to go back,
But having fun on the train back,
Taking pictures, telling stories, joking, and laughing,
Laughing 'till we're crying.
Until we arrive home,
Exhausted but wide awake, from a night so awesome,
Not wanting it to end, I shed a tear,
Until next year....
