Image for the poem Autumn

Autumn

All hunker down
as life force retreats
Willows weep
Sugar maples shout
and ashes fade forlornly to dust

We are not just in nature
We are nature
and whether with a whimper
or a rebel yell
all eventually depart

An inspiring palette outside these days. Photo from my favourite spot, up high in a pine tree.
