The Turning
Whispers below
It kept on scorching you
Lost now to the shadows around
That appear so familiar
Sleeping alone
You cradle the streets
But see enemies in everyone
Among everything
You might be the king
But who says you'll never fall
No longer see the ground
From castle walls
I hear bells ringing
And the people are dancing
To quiet songs and loud revolutions
Cavalry standing
Wolves dressed like sheep
Once gone but twice forgotten now
Never more than skin and bones
Bliss was sweet
And the wine ran so deep
Oceans sobered maniacal power
That swept the land
Discord came slow
Gutted red like a new horizon
Madness, chaos known
Yours to behold
Politicians faltered
Good intentions in the black
I gazed upon your head
Crowned by fire
I hear bells ringing
And the people are dancing
To quiet songs and loud revolutions
Cavalry standing
Wolves dressed like sheep
Once gone but twice forgotten now
Never more than skin and bones
It kept on scorching you
Lost now to the shadows around
That appear so familiar
Sleeping alone
You cradle the streets
But see enemies in everyone
Among everything
You might be the king
But who says you'll never fall
No longer see the ground
From castle walls
I hear bells ringing
And the people are dancing
To quiet songs and loud revolutions
Cavalry standing
Wolves dressed like sheep
Once gone but twice forgotten now
Never more than skin and bones
Bliss was sweet
And the wine ran so deep
