Just Being
The way I feel tonight watching you sleep
I love you without words or knowing –
Just being.
How is it you so transcend the ordinary to me?
As if your very scent had made the air come alive.
*
How long have I loved you?
I don’t even know when I knew…
…it just seems like always.
And I want to feel this way forever
As I listen to your gentle breathing.
And behind closed eyes your soul whispers to mine
Understandings deeper than words
And I softly kiss you and you briefly stir,
For kisses need no words.
*
Sweet peace…
The cares of the day forgot
A half smile plays upon your lips
In tranquil innocence.
Some moments transcend time in ways that cannot be described
There’s just a knowing…
And all that has gone before
And perhaps all that will ever be
Is not as real to me as you are right now
And you’ll never know…
…but a woman always knows.
But for me, right now, there’s just being ~
For I have no other words.
Just one last kiss before I sleep.
I love you without words or knowing –
Just being.
How is it you so transcend the ordinary to me?
As if your very scent had made the air come alive.
