Summer Swallowed

Summer I suppose,
wandered away with a miss
the hibiscus and trumpet blew
with wistful wind
yet here, at the tail end of that tale
I emerge...

Torn away alone
in blinks of tornadoes
shore the signs bastion bards
for I found
You were there, and You, and You

sweep away this sticky sweet
swollen in rapid succession
the drift upon the air wafts
with cool near, drought behind
was once bottomed barrel
drown, as sad a rat
swimming, not so, knot so
very fast
wide-eyed and pale
poured upon, flat

the wheels of the bus
go round and round
here and now
once again
from one age to another
we culled
we may

This is where You say
yep, we've heard it all
as Summer fades
black and blackened, night
my morning comes
blood on the stone
earth to the tongue
I know You
then, there
I feel You now
hung upon the breastplate
dangled from the bone

my eyes dry by the wind
leaves turn begins
bray
the fire will burn
inside
the hint remembrance
of Summer day
Author's Note
Late to the comp. is what it is...the feel of what was a long blink and missed...so fitting that the comp was missed as well...Apologies
