Once Again
As the sun descends
Once again…
There’s an empty heart
An empty bed
Where once both were full
My soul danced naked
To the music of love
Revealing the secret me
Then it didn’t seem to matter
Pouring out my heart
I
Now I cling to memories
Every last detail is still there
Clear as if you are still here
This pain I’m left with
Has its own heartbeat
We had wished for forever
Those wishes are lost
In the breaths we now take
They are now just leafs
Blowing helplessly in the breeze

I love the analogy of our circumstances becoming withered leaves not in control of their own destiny, AP. It's a very sombering write and herald into the winter season of a soul who craves the warmth of Love.
