Through
The dust and ashes
The rubble
Of a broken heart
Crumbling pieces
All that remain
From something strong
Now just
A whispering shadow
Smoke
From doused flames
Signals of surrender
A sickly
Submission of will
The incisions
Slice so deep
Unlicensed surgery
At its savagest
Meant to hurt
With each recurring memory

Here is hoping you walk right through this pain, AP. Heartbreak is an angry mistress lashing out in unrequited love. It does get better over time, if you can just sit with it, listen to it, see what it wants to teach you, then it will leave.
