Your Song
I entered your life
As a child in your arms
Your love is what warms
To this day
Where will you go when it's time?
How can you ever be gone?
There's no giving up
On love, hope and trust
Your teachings live on
This is your song
As long as I breathe
I'm not part of the seers
Who foresee the end
And say we are rotten
I saw goodness, I witnessed it
I know what humans are
Good if given the chance
Good even in the darkness
We're not monsters
Because of you I'll never believe that
And that faith lives on
This is your song
You raised me to defy the shadows
You raised me up to be a light
You raised me to know the savior that knows
my flaws, and the desire to do what is right
I could have been a bitter man
And deeply hurt is still what I am
But bitter I'm not, because I never forgot
Til all my blood's spent, it is never the end
Maybe the arms that love still await me
Maybe all boundaries can still break down
Maybe defiance of fear can still take me
To the joy and the peace I have never known
Above all I know this
That I'll never stop singing
Above all I know this
That I'll never stop clinging
To the dream of joy for me
and to bring joy to others
To do what is right
For someone end the night
Through all the storms of my life to stay strong
This is what you believed, this is what you taught me
This is what remains
And this is your song
I entered your life
As a child in your arms
Your love is what warms
To this day
Where will you go when it's time?
How can you ever be gone?
There's no giving up
On love, hope and trust
Your teachings live on
This is your song

This is what remains
And this is your song
