Three Scribblings Returning Home from Holiday in Wales
Hosting my Ghost
Perhaps I’m no more than an entertaining ghost
who, alpaca-like, spits at those who cross the line
then fades through walls in a stately manner
to live a prisoned life, in non-sense time.
Sailing
Sometimes I feel I’m sailing into a mirror
where two of me foreshorten into a flat line
each emerging miraculously on the other side -
“As within, so without” sings my spirit, “step in time”.
Leaking Heat
I’ve experienced a six-decade meltdown
with its lingering, longing, leaking heat
which fires poetically onto the page …
and many are blanks - but some are neat.

Thank you for the welcome back - and the RL.
Slowly catching up on sleep.
"dying to know more of Wales"
... are you familiar with the area around Llanidloes?

I enjoyed the first scribbling of the three the most. Non-sense time is crafty use of the word. I've always believed the departed who linger no longer experience time in the linear fashion we do.

That's an interesting thought I've had too - people assume, (when we're no longer on time-space planet Earth), that awareness of time & space disappear; like you, I'm not so sure.

Yipe! Sometimes the road home is a long one, but at least you're safe and almost there! I related to the second one the most, perhaps it's because of the old hymn "It is well with my soul" - so above so below. Lovely scribblings! I never knew airport layovers could be so inspiring!

Thank you. Perhaps the enforced up-all-nighter de-coupled my regular filters somewhat and let things flow a bit more easily and less self-judgementally :))

Good to see you back. You've returned with some incredible imagery & introspection here. I'm going to read this several times...

Thank you Willow for the welcome back. Hope the re-reads bring up something new and unexpected (am intrigued to know how any of them might read to you).

This write has nice proportion of cheek and nostalgia, it seems to me. Welcome back Josh. Thank you for all your participation with the podcast thus far by the way, I found your greeting the most touching out of those we have assembled. You and RevolutionAL killed it. I sounded like a radio DJ. lol

Thank you Daniel - I think cheek & nostalgia is a good way of putting it. Glad the audios have made a sensible contribution. Look forward to the next poet-pod-cast :))

That last stanza gave me a vivid picture, as if molten metal falls to form words. I can't begin to image your life experiences that give us a brief glance, producing such wonderful writing.

Thank you Wally for your encouragement - I like the image you suggest. Given that all experience is subjective ( a kind of personal bubble-gram), I sometimes wonder if poetry (& art) is the only way to truly communicate with another human soul - all the rest is possibly merely ideological manipulation (just a thought).
