Winter's Fall
What falls beyond the passing of Autumn?
The chill hath made the stems of orange hues brittle,
only these leaves had better known – yet knew too little!
The carpets of evergreens frosted with snow,
now as yule logs, they’ll surely know!
The arctic is desolate and void of the falling hue,
though the fighting man shall have life and never fall in the igloo.
The solstice of our season, the day gives into the night.
