Dragon Reflection
Time is marked by changing shifts by meals and fists of pills.
I join the chorus of screaming neighbors’ tis how the air is filled.
I know I’m missed but not in love buy those who should be there.
Been handled by these lustful handlers caretakers with out care.
A soft and safe padded life I’m asked how do I feel.
I hug my self within my vest and keep my thoughts concealed.
Go away I whispered back to trespassers in my head.
Realities daily doses waning part I pray a soul who’s dead.
A burnt out bulb hangs mockingly beyond the century door.
I call out through its narrow window to my wards abandoned floor.
Turning back I’m there again the hidden monsters cave.
I sense this final battle’s prize is the mind that’s mine to save.
No longer shall it feed on me and leave a hollowed shell.
Return back to where it once had come a place I dare not tell.
Adorned in my flesh and in my dress symbols of my sin.
I hold my ground and raise my blade the end shall now begin.
A foe knows more than any friend told in a moment’s stare.
Stabs of courage tore at the fear that sliced with deep despair.
How hard and long the battle raged our blood mixed on the ground.
Till in the end I stood alone the beast could not be found.
In an insane world cursed is sanity held without protection.
For the chance will come to see again the inner dragon reflection.
