Nobody Writes Me Letters Anymore
It’s almost a lost art of communication and expression
We used to transform our notions to paper and pen
Spent time and effort to convey thought and emotion
It almost seems almost extinct in these latter days…
We must reclaim and recall the flair of simpler times
When connection took patience and charm to build
And show those who matter most that we still care
By putting in the work worth of closer relationships
We rely on technology so much we’ve lost that gift
Because in such a fast paced world no one has time
And if we don’t have time how can we ever connect
And get to know one another like it’s meant to be
Letters on paper have a warmer personal touch
They’re not just the physical but emotional as well
Corresponding can be a timeless memorable occasion
That the craft seems to be a rediscovered present
I’ll embark on this journey with close family and friends
For sometimes letters will stand the test of time
They become part of our personal history, our stories
Told one at a time to share with that special someone

If you send me your postal address; I’ll write you fresh letters on paper, like the good old days ! Nothing fancy, just fresh ink on paper, with scribbles here & there.
On a serious note, I miss those days... and yes, technology pissed on my parade too as not too many people find the time to write these days.

Yes, those days were different, you really had to pause and think before you wrote (same with typewriters). I was in that transition phase of letters, typewriters and computers when it just became easier, then everything just needed to be faster, efficient and but became less personable.

It seems with every new technology, we gain something superficial, and lose something of depth. Where is the future "man of letters"? Really enjoyed this write.

Yes we lose a bit of that human emotion (and penmanship). There were a couple of letters I found that I wrote to my mother at age 7 and 8 , I became emotional at my own naivete and inexperience. In a sense, they become relics.

Now this is something I can truly get behind. I have a box of handwritten letters from people. It’s my most treasured possession. One that I would save in a fire with absolute certainty. There’s something so personal about it, I totally agree.
