A Future in Bleeding
I'm a mere photograph of who I used to want to be
This future to me seems to be growing more ghastly
Fondle through memories that presently seem
to be little more than another midday fever-dream
I want to exist in a cheap motel lit by a single beam
Of light flickering illuminating my lifeless little scene
A Televison with no picture after I smashed the screen
Just muttering fools selling me a get-rich-quick scheme
Something happened in my youth
I'll never actually tell you
Because those are words I choose
Never to use
My name fades from memory once I melt into a stream
My words incoherent, you wont hear it, one last scream
As though the void would answer something to redeem...
