War

My body says yes
My mind says no
I have not longed for you
Since long, long ago
 
I think I loved you
Sometimes you loved me too
I miss our bodies together
But I don’t miss you
 
I know that should I see you
My body will betray me
Our times together  
Will blind me such that I cannot see
 
The hurt that you caused me
The pain you inflicted
Your disregard for my affection
The past as you depicted
 
Why did you not love me in return
I ached for you day and night
No matter what I did
You disregarded my plight
 
And so here I stand
Shaken to the core
For if I see you again
I will lose the war
