S-word-S

The words of the reckless pierce like swords,
but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Prov. 12:18 (NIV)

words when kindly spoken
are blest instruments of healing;
dark rhymes but carry arrowheads
that leave their victims reeling.

curses left unspoken
never shall require retraction,
for oaths slain by the light of day
compel no counteraction.

praise in full profusion
shall its kindred souls inspire;
not sparingly, give oft of this,
and grudges shall expire.

wisdom is kindhearted,
speaking with the voice of patience;
he softly melts all strife away,
proliferates love’s fragrance.

love is words transported
from the armchair to the podium.
she thrives not on blind sentiment,
but action born of wisdom.

vision is her tribute,
for her praise begets no curse.
curse dies when starved by healing words
in gentleness dispersed.
