In That Place Again

And years from now
When I look back
It won’t be your face
That I remember
But the place
I was in
And I wonder
(Listening to the music that reminds
Me of traveling in the desert
Under the stars
Always in love
With all)
If I ever will be
In that place again.
Like a leaf
Your face withers with time,
Peeling off,
Stale paint,
Dead sheet of your eyes
And smile
Plastered
Flaking off falls.
It isn’t in you, you’re an avatar,
But something behind
The wall
Encases
Is what I’ll remember,
What sits in my heart.
And if I want to go to that place again
I just turn on the music
And close my eyes
And my heart dances
In memories
But not memories
These images
Move with the rhythm
Notes flicker stars
I ride along
With the sway on a camel
Through this desert
Of dancing sands
Every grain
My heart.                                                                      5/24/11
