Unsheathed
Unsheathed, with defences breached
Take flight, and feel the taste of haste
Bows bent and shots fired
A hopeless war with no time to waste
What side to choose?
When a war insues
Smouldering at our door
like the times before
Are there hints hidden in hues?
or written in clues?
Please I implore,
What is it that we fight for?
Pray tell? what news?
Tis it all a mere ruse?
The lines of battle have been drawn
The hymns of war have just begun
Fiends, friends, family and hell spawn
March to the different banners and their songs
Even in the wrong, with my family I long to belong.
But do I belong? Where did it all go wrong?
Is it merely brain over brawn?
Would not the Heart triumph and be strong?
To win the fight and right the wrong
Will our souls plead forgiveness for what
we've done.
Before our humanity is truly gone?
Will a plight be heard over the harrowing of our song
Is there a light in sight before the dawn
There are no battles to be won
But we can't forgive, forget and move on
What side to choose?
When a war insues
Smouldering at our door
like the times before
Are there hints hidden in hues
or written in clues?
Please I implore,
What is it that we fight for?
Pray tell? what news?
Tis it all a mere ruse?
The dignity of our souls dragged across the floor.
But only blood and gore lay in store
for the poor when we ride in stride to war.
What welche of a whore requested this war?
It makes whores of us all at our core.
No one ever truly wins
When it begins
