Ritual

Now the tax-return is handed in
I shall tip attention towards my saving graces
of weaving and sculpting. Constructing
a long shroud in memoriam
for the many innocents killed and maimed by
perpetual wars - wars instigated by alien minds
at the vile end of the human spectrum -
the cloth, when woven, shall be wrapped round
one of my zome sculptures …
Someone comments “Uhhh ?… and then what …?”
and I reply “you understand not
the power of ritual”.
