The Colour Purple.
keep me
off-line
lock my doors
don't allow me out
let my body calm
in it's psychotic
paralysis
switch off the phone
don't touch my skin
draw curtains to darkness
it's day five
of twenty one pills
and
there is no space
in my heart
for those
who will
use shame as
compassion
wear ribbons of purple
chant words
of motivation
help me remember
to take
the
twenty one pills

Well Josh, that is indeed the point, please do see my comment to Crowfly.
You know this disease is not common but it is desperate for a cure, I believe the more we talk about it and get it out, the more chance we have.
But I also reckon we see a Chemo patient with no hair and assume they have cancer, it's based on knowledge, no one told anyone that Lupus patients have Chemo, so we had no idea.
Thank you for reading and thank you for commenting and thank you for giving a damn!
Blue skies at you
Al

Yeah. I rattle when I walk too. Meds are not fun.
What was that quote from A Christmas Carol? — “Come in, come in! and know me better, man!”
Hope the words heal a little of what the fkn pills cannot.

Aaah my friend,
the words, we live by the words.
cool quote, but gotta be honest I don't really want people coming in. They make one need to wear the smile and make up and I'm okay mask. and hey who needs that amount of work.
haha!
blue skies at you madam thank you for popping in!

Mask? Na. It’s ok to be a 24 carat wreck. Mentally, physically, or otherwise. Written that many a time.

I had no knowledge of SLE, so I appreciate this as both educational and powerfully poetic. I take a host of meds for different reasons. It's my face that retains that purple glow.

Strangely, the next part to this, deals with that glo… I just prefer to post one at a time, you know. You know not many men suffer this disease the stats indicate number such as 1- 10 sufferers are men. But then not many people have it, when I last checked they were suggesting 40 - 100 out of every 100,000 people globally. 70 odd percent of which suffer SLE. So yes I feel we need to educate.
I feel your purple glo. I know your pain. And I get your meds issues. I am grateful to see you comment here so openly.
Respect and Blue Skies at you sir

Hey Hey Miss Howling
Respect at you, and the struggle
It's real!
I do hope she is managing the chemo okay, it's frightfully daring on the body. You keep that ice and lemon really close.
Love at you my friend!
