Villanelle Nr.14 — Brexit Villanelle

Bolloxed by uncertainty the British battle through
crazy guys have got a grip and push their own decree
honest brokers tear their hair and wonder what to do

Theresa’s had her chances, yes, and all of them she blew
now the E.U dictate terms as everyone can see -
bolloxed by uncertainty the British battle through

The marching million made their point - the options weren’t just two
many millions signed on-line and put the case for free
honest people tear their hair - what else are they to do?

A million Brits who live abroad are feeling in a stew
several million Europeans sipping English tea
bolloxed by uncertainty the workers battle through

As I write, the outcome is we’ve really not a clue
whose agenda finally will be the one to be -
honest brokers tear their hair and wonder what to do

When the nonsense gets to me, I’m feeling down and blue
I have a simple anti-dote … I click on DUP -
bolloxed by uncertainty the poets battle through
NaPo writers tear their hair and wonder what to do.
