Descend – Day Four

With swift descend, how simple life goes lost,
Who hovers close at soul’s periphery.
Like summer smiles that catch in winter’s frost,
In broken thoughts that set its young ghost free.

Who hovers close at soul’s periphery?
One from the heights to valley floor descends,
In broken thoughts that set its young ghost free,
That leave one barren lacking place and friends.

One from the heights to valley floor descends
In wakened eyes that strain in tribal land,
That leave one barren, lacking place and friends
Among the graves and weight of life’s disband.

In wakened eyes that strain in tribal land,
The young boy’s faith well washed in homely wine.
Among the graves and weight of life’s disband,
A hermit held in city’s crush, maligned.

The young boy’s faith well washed in homely wine,
Like summer smiles that catch in winter’s frost,
A hermit held in city’s crush, maligned,
With swift descend, how simple life goes lost.
