Image for the poem Unpossessed Beauty

Unpossessed Beauty

sitting in solitude
pondering the day
life's worries swirling
watching trees sway

suppress selfish longing
deep breath close my eyes
allow me this moment
alluring presence realized

grace me with adornment
into my vision you fly
fleeting brief gift
unpossessed beauty

touched my core
momentary meeting
delectation gratification
yearning for more

Author's Note
I have a hummingbird that visits me every morning during the late spring and summer. I don't have him on film yet so I substituted a butterfly!
