Existence is a cruel master, makes us wander if any one thing should own another. In this case we are referring to man and his best friends. The average human simply doesn't realize we are not supposed to own animals in certain ways. Natural selection in the wild control the population, if left alone without man's intervention. But we agree it is hard not to exist without Fluffy the cat and Rover the dog. But if you are going to claim ownership, then you should want the best care for you pet.  Do the right thing, tight

That would make a great shock advert to wake up people who are casual in the way they treat dogs..

it's hard for me as well to think of how dark this world gets. keeps me up at times. My animals = Family, should be that way for everyone.

Pandora.. it's the sad state of this world.. to pass over suffering, and hurt with a catch phrase.. just so it sounds less cruel.. we don't fix problems.. we usually ignore them, or use soft rhetoric to feel less guilty.. powerful ink.. into the list it belongs.. much respect..

So, true.
There's a lot we could do that we don't to stop this horrible problem.  I, along with others, have advocated free government funded spade and neutering to all pet owners.  
In response, people tell me that tax payers shouldn't have to foot the bill.  What they don't realize is that such a program, coupled with a required breeders' licence, would save the tax payers millions already wasted on animal control Along with the millions more spent for the cost of mitigating damages feral cats and dogs do to wildlife and.live stock.
Thank you for the courageous write.  We need more poetry like this.

Yay, a likeminded soul!! I'm glad to see another advocate..thank you for playing your own part. You are correct about those tax dollars. I worked for a clinic that even offered free services & mobile sites in rural areas & still was owner effort little. Thank you for reading me & commenting, snugglebuck!!

as i love cats had one that was blind from birth now gone had him 12 years

I'm sorry, D. I just lost 2 in 6 months. It's so very hard. I wish they could live forever. Sigh

I had a job once to do I take from kill shelters to our adoption center. Having 10 spots out of 60 animals to choose from was beyond cruel. If people saw it & those damn puppy mills, I hope they'd be human enough to get it!
