The Rent's Due, Time To Move
Throw at me your blunders
so I will catch more shit
things you pull that make me wonder
just who's in charge of dirty tricks
Flooding rivers and this fucking heat
dead leaves to rake and burn
snow which gathers up pass my ass
yet you show no concern
Go ahead, pile it on
take another shot
you'll not phase me with all this sleaze
as I watch you rot
Oceans full of plastics
and smog to fill the skies
my cares are quite elastic
of creatures that may die
My narcissistic tendencies
the reason for my ways
disavowing dependency
is why you hold no sway
For when it's all said and done
I'll leave this place behind
to seek another rock out there
and continue to live blind
Thanks for nothin', ma.
Humankind

This is fantastic!
I very much dig this masterpiece 👏
I especially enjoyed this particular verse
"Flooding rivers and this fucking heat
dead leaves to rake and burn
snow which gathers up pass my ass
yet you show no concern "
Ha this is so accurate and so fantastic

The accuracy, I fear is nearly dead on.
Thanks, for the feedback, Hunter.

While I agree on the sadness, I think I missed the mark on the comical theme of the comp.

Having personally dealt ( and currently dealing with a narcissist ) - I will have to agree with you. There was definitely nothing humorous about this write. But it was good, nonetheless.
Perhaps in some way cathartic?

This is a wonderful write, Amorous_tryst. My favorite lines:
Oceans full of plastics
and smog to fill the skies
my cares are quite elastic
of creatures that may die
But this is fine work all the way. It may or may not fit the expectations of the comp's comical theme, but personally I love it.

Thank you Sir Crow. for the kind words.
I did enjoy taking a different spin on my previous poem, even though there was some cringing during the rewrite.

Found this by way of random poem. I’m quite anal about recycling— I’m a bit of an enviro-chick tree-hugger type. This got me thinking about this space rock I’m floating about on and how I want to leave it shiny for the people I leave behind. Fair bit of sass in it too, and I appreciated that.
Thanks for sharing.

You and I both sister, won't even flip a butt out the window, let alone other trash. Recycle everything I possibly can and then some, even when I shouldn't.
Got grandsons and hopefully great grand kids who will be here long after I've left, possibly yours as well, and ain't expecting them to clean up the mess.
