Heart Day

( a Sonnet )

The challenge of this very special year
When many others greet it with a shrug
For me and mine the meaning is so clear
Today to give our heartstrings each a tug

Itís small in consideration of the heart
When separated by the flooding miles
That inundate and split the roads apart
And still communicate despite the trials †

But as Iím grateful for my little cell
As distance shrinks a bit to hear his coo
To celebrate traditions we know well
When itís for love we practice what to do
We set aside the chocolate & the sweets
To trade to feel him sampling all my treats
