Forecast
I hear voices in the rain
Singing that I don't have long
That I'm destined to go down in pain
As I hear their fatal song
But I see faces in the clouds
Countering that abject horror
They gather in billowed crowds
And say I have too much in store
They inform me I can't pass in peace
Until I fall once in love
Just once before my last release
Before I join them high above
I can surely see reason
In what they have to say
They grant me one more fair season
And if successful I will stay.
Singing that I don't have long
That I'm destined to go down in pain
As I hear their fatal song
But I see faces in the clouds
Countering that abject horror
They gather in billowed crowds
And say I have too much in store
They inform me I can't pass in peace
Until I fall once in love
Just once before my last release
Before I join them high above
I can surely see reason
In what they have to say
They grant me one more fair season
And if successful I will stay.

I'm really not much for rain, Flower, at least not the deluge we seem to be in for this week. I keep getting caught in it, unprepared. I wrote this when I was finally home, warm and dry. The rain, and clouds, can be an inspiration nevertheless. Thank you for the luv!

Your poems seem to have matured and gained more depth in the last 2-3 months Crow - I hope to be reading many more in the future. :))

I admire your work too, josh. In fact you're kind of a role model for me. You delve into politics and deeper themes. Me, I'm trying to avoid trite endeavors of my own. Thank you for the thoughtful comment!
