On the inside
there's a three months waiting list
to get a part time job
which means we spend
twenty three hours a day
seven days a week
locked up in pajamas
with two strangers
in an eight by ten
every second counted
& the greater the boredom
the more exciting crime will seem
come the day of our release

The title of this poem is nicely playful. Here I was expecting an attack on mobile phones when prison reared its head. The "pyjamas" were an exquisite touch and the central wisdom is refreshingly intelligent. I shan't ask how you know about the three month waiting period for part time work in the nick. I know about it because I listen to the news, Jack & have the poet's habit of remembering trivial snippets of information for future use.
