Ageing
You wake up one day
And all of a sudden
Your phone’s not
Ringing off the hook,
(Nobody’s looking for ya)
There’s little
Demanding
Or competing
For your attention
On the weekends
(Which is
Actually peaceful
For a change;
Although any
Disruption
In the routine
Can normally
Kill a person)
And quite frankly
Half the people
(At least a 1/3)
Don’t even know
Your missing;
(Who are you?)
They’ve broken off
Into new alliances,
New hardships, (in general/ pick one at today’s rate ie illness, unemployment, legal woes ie prison)
And
New arbitration
(In that exact order)
Yet others
May still be
Idling in the stream
Like me;
Unfound.
(I’ve never
Really been
One to feel sorry
In the sense that
If things
Were meant
To be different
Then they would be)
And all of a sudden
Your phone’s not
Ringing off the hook,
(Nobody’s looking for ya)
There’s little
Demanding
Or competing
For your attention
On the weekends
(Which is
