Your words
Your words
Drift to me from across vast ocean
Rocking me in sweet serenade
Your words
Velvet, wrap me in their warmth
A soft balm to my aching skin
Your words
Hold me in the dark of night
When no other life stirs
Your words
Enraptured me poetess
Make me slave to your mistress
Your words
Quench this agonising thirst
With their cool, soothing fluidity
Your words
Sustain me through life’s trials
When I cannot turn to those around me
Your words
Are those of a stranger
But also more intimate than any lover
Your words
I love them
And what they do to me
But they will only ever be
Your words.
