Here we lie again
Just as our first time
Unexpected romp
Passionate affair
Call it what you will
We've become good friends
In these lives of ours
and star-crossed lovers
Wrong time and wrong place
Should have met years past
Often heard, noted
Far from becoming
Routine, habitual
In these lives of ours
Romance has flourished
Spectacularly
Spontaneously
Joined at the hip? No
Busy lives we lead
Partners and children
In these lives of ours
Precedence and need
Compassion for all
Further down the years
Partners drift away
Children growing up
Predict the future?
In these lives of ours
Something thought about
Lying here, talking
Cosy, comfortable
Life seems wonderful
Special yet surreal
Caring and sharing

Thank you HJ, emotional times with a close friend's death and thoughts of my mother's passing not long ago. Just makes me think about the fragility of life and how those we are close to need to be nurtured and loved. Life's not a run thru' - this is it! So seize the moment and live it darling.
