Consumption

Grazing on Your Beauty
of morning repasts,
intoxicating and fruity
devouring slowly to
make each meal last…

We ate one another
from within
when without, we lost
the trust
we thought
we had.

Consumption full
and blown out of
proportion,
we bled from all
orifices.
The ooze of love
now darkened
Hate and insides
crumble under
the weight
of broken
dreams.

No longer our futures
in singular focus;
consumption now
overtakes us with rabid
acceleration and of
lethal Tuberculosis!
