Reeka 2

You
Weren’t
Mindless
But your
Ponytail
(ignorant ass ponytail)
Sure was;
It had no type
Of sense,
Didn’t know
How to act
(And she honestly
Couldn't help it
Either;
She wasn't arrogant
That's just how
Her hair was)
Considering
It was
The summer
Of liberation
For most
Young
Black women
In the city,
So the barber shop
Had lined me up
Like something
Out of cosmopolitan
With earrings,
A cartilage piercing
And make up
To offset it;
And you
Carried enough
Hair
For the both of us.
(On that dance floor)
