4:13pm, don't forget to clock in
I was finally aware
and hated every minute of it.
blow a vein,
blow the candles flame atop the birthday cake,
blow your secrets to the wind.
all my ideas were battery corroded electrical toy robots;
painted yellow lightening bolts for ears
and a ticking mechanical heart meant to rust.
find me in the musky dirt basement of my childhood,
find me in the rotting treehouse that fell apart through the years,
find me in between radio stations Frequency buzz ,surfing
find me in the drive home from work
syntax separates us from the beasts
until we realize what side of the cage we're on.
