Trying to Forget Him

Some might say that there will be a day when I finally
Get over you, but how do they know? Because to them
It is as simple as pulling the plug and moving on, but
They are not the ones who deal with the turmoil or
Every agonizing decision. They do not know the pain
That lingers like there is still a part of him attached to
My soul. They do not know the sleepless nights or that
I try to wish him away with a prayer. I wish to forget him
And how he made me feel. I hope to prove to myself that
I am stronger than someone who in the end never really
Cared about me like he said he did. Some people are not
Capable of love, no matter how deserving they are of it.
