Rumi once said you have to keep breaking your heart until it opens. Then you fear nothing; not even painful emotions such as abandonment or betrayal. You welcome whatever arises with love, offer it tea, and wish it well as it leaves.
What you describe here is perfect: The Living Dead, who have never truly lived.

I’ll never forget that in my church days growing up I read a book by Nikki Cruz. And there was a quote that has always stayed with me: “We are the ones on whos tombs they’ll inscribe: died at 15, buried at 75. Out of the night you’ll breathe a sigh for the ones who are dead, yet cannot die”.
This poem reminded me of it. Rather poignant ink here. Thank you for sharing.
