Night Time

Why is the morning grey?
The night welcomes malice with seductive claws
welcoming her into bed, shades of yesterday
overtake me in this inkwell cycle of forward pause
take time onward, let it stand no more;
shadows don't make me stay
night, you embrace the few starlit sparks I have in store
yet, sun you are old like my soul, cold, and far away.

Author's Note
I don't always write about myself. I usually use a strawman type character to convey an emotional theme. A fictional character who feels a certain way, but is not me. That's what this is.
All writing remains the property of the author. Don't use it for any purpose without their permission.
