girl in the rain
So engrossed...
in her book she became...
that she sat...on the bench...
'neath the light...in the rain.
All night she read...
umbrella forgotten...
from beginning to end...
she read, soaked and be-sodden.
The book? That is real...
but not so the story...
for she read of adventure...
of glory and gloom...
of wizards and warriors...
ogres and halflings...
of Dragons'-hoard treasure...
and a Mountain called "Doom"...
in her book she became...

The use of rhyming 'doom' and 'gloom' could be in danger of being crass but certainly is not in the way you've etched them into this poem - nicely handled. :)

Indeed, one ring... The Very One... Frodo made quite the sacrifice to put the damned thing back from whence it came...
Tolkien created a mythology for us Brits... as we had none of our own...and I think he could have done a lot worse than The Ring Trilogy.
