Why do people take themselves so seriously?
It’s the difference between us to which I refer:
I can’t help but see myself in an ironic light.
Though I’ll rearrange the dishwasher the way I prefer,
I would never insist that my way is right.

Brava Titanium! It's the simple, seemingly mundane things we do that most reveals our personalities. I too have my dishwasher proclivities and yet don't foist them on my progeny and their haphazard placement skills. Just not a my-way-or-the-highway kinda guy.

There are some things on which I'll stand firm..... but I've never been very interested in argument as a sport.
I much prefer to laugh at myself, although that does come with complications too.

narcissism is synonymous

yeah - sometimes it's not that serious - just an inability to step outside themselves and see the trivia of the moment.
I, on the other hand, have a hard time ever taking myself very seriously at all, which can be an impediment.....
