I would not be at all surprised...
to find conspiracies galore
in which people with power
conspire and scheme
to achieve their own ends
by whatever means...
they...in their arrogance...
deem... necessary...
But we must remember...
There is no Perfect Form of Government
The problem is US.!
We Humans are... collectively...
Arse'oles, plain and simple...
We can't be trusted with Power...
It's in our Genetic Make-Up...

YES:::YES:::YES... absolutely! We are soooo freakin' backward evolutionarily... that it's a joke! ALL of us, don't you know? Ely
I agree that we as individuals have to make sure first of all to be well informed and secondly to keep a keen eye on our own ego....that's just for human beings that care enough to make a difference....however that is not to be taken to divert from the greater evils that go on and get stuck in some navel gazing stupor....
I have been in many situations in my life where I was tempted with money or power but I chose my principles instead. So we can't be all be that bad....it's more a matter of choice and decency. Unless you have the brain of a psychopath, which is indeed genetic, there is always that choice. Most folks are just too comfortable and apathetic.
I am glad Ely my little poem this morning inspired you, so we can have this discussion.

I grant you that Humans are not all evil...
not even the majority is bad... but...
as a species... we suck...
Too many have been too stupid...
or maybe too un-caring
to understand that sharing...
the responsibility...
for practicing good husbandry
might keep this planet we all live on... safe for all concerned...
We too, prefer to make the principled choice and forgo the filthy lucre...
they dangle like bait in front of our noses...
I can't live like that...
But, so far, I can't see... how to change ...the...
top-og-ra-phy of the feckless mind of the average person...
who won't take the time or won't make the effort to do just one thing to improve their own lot...
Re-cycle, bicycle, clean up the 'hood...
get with the neighbors to cook and share food...
it's not rocket science... there's nothing to dare
support your local planet... that is... if you care. Ely
