For The Dreamers
I dreamt of a dream about a dream in a dream!
The dream I dreamt
Was a dream about a dream in a dream,
In short,
I dreamt of a dream about a dream
in a dream,
Dreamy I know,
But the dream I dreamt was a mere
construct of a dream I once dreamt of
While dreaming of a dream I wished to dream of for a long time of incessant dreaming,
So everything I dreamt I dreamt,
Was no more than just a dream existing in a dream..
So, say dreams do come true,
How do I decide which dream I dreamt should no longer be a dream,
Should it be the dream I dreamt about dreaming,
Or the other dream I dreamt about dreaming in a dream about a dream?
Its all twisted ,
Dreams coming true is just but a dream and time wasted,
So I would rather have goals and vision,
Not dream of dreams ceasing,
For that is the nature of lazy minds lying idle and sleeping,
Not of minds powerful and living
Visionaries envision vision,
And leave dreams for the dreamers.

I have nothing against dreaming but dreams without action are simply a waste of time and an escape from reality

I especially love this one, it’s like you busted every tool in your box out to chisel a masterpiece. Normally this kind of wordplay annoys me bc it tends to be senseless in meaning, done just to sound cool. You had a clear vision with this, evident in both the arrangement you laid out and in the closing lines. Loved every line.
Special side note:
“For that is the nature of lazy minds lying idle and sleeping”
This brings to mind Mercutio’s speech in Romeo & Juliet; not sure if it was intentional or not but it’s a lovey touch, gives it a little flavor of the classic.
