Death

Her marble eyes glistened without love
the pulse of beauty flatlined
just a waxy shell remained
the sweet perfume of death

Her tender hands were cold to touch
nestled in eternal sleep
a flame extinguished in a storm
still burns inside my heart

Abandon me, for I am weary as the wind
estranged in perpetual grief
in the soft cell of frozen memories;
summer exhales into autumn mist
