Troubled Souls

There are many troubled souls right under our nose
Who have gone through things that we don't know
So show compassion and empathy for those next to thee
Some are desperately battling inner demons that we can't see

From the roots of a tree up to the branches and leaves
We all have a tendency to deal with things that makes us grieve
Don't be so easily deceived by superficial smiles
Many have dealt with bumpy roads the length of miles

Had gunfights at the O.K. Corral and have battle scars
The type of scars that stick to them like feathers and tar
Their star dimming more and more with each passing day
Be on the lookout like you're on a stakeout in case they come your way
