POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I love a good tale told well.
Missed Opportunities
Why is it that
when one door closes
another one opens
But when the window closes
you're shit out of luck?
when one door closes
another one opens
But when the window closes
you're shit out of luck?

Lonely Planet Earth
I was born in a white man's skin
I never thought anything about it
until one day while traveling in a land
far away I had a sudden revelation
Are we really that much different
or are we just alike I wondered in despair
I tried to speak in my foreign tongue
but no one heard I feared
Like I was from another planet
So how can we bridge this gap
twixt me and all the others
A clash of many cultures
Our blood is the same color
We have the same hopes
dreams and desires
We live to love each other
Make no mistake we...

A place where people come and go
Some go and never come back
Lost but not forgotten
Home away from home
Away from friends
Far from family

Progress is doing
more of what
you want to do
and less of what
you don't

American Hero
Many Americans
from childhood on
have an unconscious identity
with the “Hero Archetype”
which dominates their
character and fascination with
death and near death experience
Their life story reflects
many formative years
of forceful indoctrination
and happenstance
easily channeled into
competitive sports
and military service
where they can relate
to their peers
and form relationships.
There are no safety nets
for returning vets ...

The Potter and the Patron
Why buy handmade tableware and pottery in the age of industrial ceramics?
Perhaps simply because they are desirable and people want to connect with the craftsman who made them.
Because in almost every community lives a Studio Potter driven by hunger and a desire to get his hands in the mud.
Working with one's hands to produce something tangible is becoming a rarity
in our technological world.
It is pretty amazing what hands can do with a lump of clay and some basic tools.

Perception
Generally speaking,
artists tend to look at things
from multiple perspectives
called perception.
Perhaps that is why
they are so often
misunderstood, undervalued
unappreciated and seldom
taken seriously.
